    Bias Purity

Paint me the color of your rainbow
Keep me from man's cruel impressions
by removing violet from the hue
Draw me a poker face with whitened coals
and erase all traces of long lived oppression
by shading my eyes to a stricking blue
stencil my heart and restain my soul
and deliver me from a marters crucifixions
by tracing my faith to that you hold true
when you are finishen and feeling so whole
and your art reflects your perfect creation
cover your eyes from what you drew
there is only one God that can take on the role
of viewing the masses with their imperfections
and painting bias purity is all you can do

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
