    Candlelight

    Light, come my way
    Flicker on in darkness
I will drip of your presence
    A fragrant aroma surrounds

    A gust of hot breath
    Tortures my little fireball
Oh don't dwindle, my precious flame
Remain a beacon for the lost

    My most beloved lighthouse
    Lead the way for me
    I am growing smaller
    As you linger on

Oh dear, you make me weep
    Tears rush down my sides
    I am no longer lonely
    Don't leave me in darkness

    Puff! Oh where are you?
    What have they done?
    Don't take my light away
    What can I do now?

    My tears are quietly drying
    I am passing from memory
    You were my reason
    My reason for being seen

This is a moving poem. Nice imagery. You have an uncanny ability to express with words. Well done.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

    T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
