    defective fantasies

    If I’m a princess

    Where’s my happy ending?

    What happened to Prince Charming

And the love notes we should be sending?

    If I’m pumpkin pie

    Where’s my whipped cream?

Why do only come around once a year

And not taste as good as I seem?

    If I’m Christmas day

    Where’s the happiness and joy?

    When kids think of me

Why do they only think of toys?

    If I’m a dress

    Why don’t I look right?

    Am I the wrong color

Am I too fancy or tight?

    If I love you

    Where’s your love in return?

Why do you set my heart on fire

    Just to watch it burn?

love - what an emotion, propably the strongest and most written about - nice

Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
