Demon

people say I'm the ugliest thing they have seen
guess it's true I know where I had been
I tried to love and give everything ,but most people want are things

Always alone in one dark place
thinking about myself on those days
When I was happy and free,
and now it's misery

People think I'm a demon different from their kind
see me as an animal heart and mind
I sometimes think that I don't belong here
I sometimes feel I'm a creature that they fear

People don't know the way I love but this
love cannot be reached by an ordinary human love
Now I see there's more in life than we can imagine
I'm a demon outside but a human within

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
