Dripping Speeches

Dripping Speeches

It was in those few
Threads of conversation
The flowing of the tongue
That I was able to let myself out to you

I have learned
I have acknowledged
I feel I will learn
I have years to go

Everyone's asleep
But we have had a night
I don't know you
But you let me vent

I am in your debt
My emotions and my style
Has been let out to you
I trust you'll keep it safe

Going out on a limb and trusting people is a big deal for many of us. You conveyed this very well...........E

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
