Grito, I hear you. You and I could dig a gold mine out of preaching. But I am afraid The Father would be vexed with us. It is safer to remain poor and steadfast in the Faith. Read Micah 6:8.........lol.

Re: We 21st Century Poets!

Micah 6:8 (King James Version)

He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

Thanks again Cousin, humble is the way.

Re: We 21st Century Poets!

"We're here to celebrate the power of words," President Obama said. Words "help us to appreciate beauty and also understand pain; to inspire us to action, and to spur us on when we start to lose hope; to lift us up out of our daily existence—even if it's just for a few moments—and return us with hearts that are a little bit bigger and fuller than they were before."

Re: We 21st Century Poets!

nice link, WS! nice follow-up, Grito! smile

and in chapbook news:
Gribble Press is hosting an author reading on Nov 22 in Spokane, including at least one poet who will read from her "chapbook" of poetry ... i about spit out my coffee when i saw that word ... apparently it's alive and well in many circles ...

and THEN ... chatting with a local coffee shop gal ... she said, Way Back, in the early '90s smile Sherman Alexie brought his chapbook of poetry to the local bookstore (Auntie's) to arrange a reading ... before he was "published" and the "Sherman Alexie" that we all know and love ...

my synchronicity share for the day ...

luv on a Wednesday!

Re: We 21st Century Poets!

gogant, i thought you were looking for gold ? ! smile

faithwalkfarm, i left a note, too, on the History Channel site, and it WASN'T that hard smile

KT ... here, step-by-step instructions ... it'll be fun! smile
(1) follow the link
(2) click "Create Account"
(3) give name, email address, and location which are confidential, and then make up a screen name ... use your OP name wink ... make up a password ... and voila
(4) check your email for a note from History Channel
(5) follow the second link, something like "confirm account"
(6) leave a note about "new shows" ... think of anyone in the world you'd like to know more about, and make a (poetry-related, for WS's SAKE) suggestion about what you'd like to see in a show from the History Channel
(7) log out of the History Channel site, and you've made History!

lol ... 5 minutes ... a pain, but not too much to ask, really wink

luv!

Re: We 21st Century Poets!

IT struck me every day
The lightning was as new
As if the cloud that instant slit
And let the fire through.

It burned me in the night,
It blistered in my dream;
It sickened fresh upon my sight
With every morning’s beam.

I thought that storm was brief,—
The maddest, quickest by;
but Nature lost the date of this,
And left it in the sky.
