I love you

I love you

Inspired by the feel of your skin I

Lift my hand and the beating begins.
On the tip of a love betrayed, my
Velvet-gloved hand delivers my rage.
Each strike a penance you pay.

Young love blossomed to this obsession.
Out in the open, I scream confession.
Under violence, I take possession

{This is an acrostic poem that spells out I LOVE YOU with the first letter of every line}

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
