    The Daily Grind

I have had my fill of days gone bad.
Of tears spent and feeling sad

I am ready for the sun to shine.
For some happy thoughts, all mine.

I don't mind working for my peace.
I just want the trials to cease.

Is that too much to ask?
To just be without a mask?

Now to attend to the day at hand,
Oh, forget it, I'm going to play in the sand.

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
