    Increments

    Counting time in increments
    every 15 minutes
    crawling slowly away
    this is another weekend
    another lost night and day

    Such a disposable person
    so in love with plastic things
    that crack and scratch into pieces
    like weekend relationships
    never meant to last

    Break up this family
    something he has never had
    one dimensional friends
    who will never stick around to the end
    even his mother has abandoned him
    losing herself in religion
    better to have nothing
    then a greedy bastard
    for a would -be son
    having the world handed to him
    without fancy or whim
    stick a plastic fork in his neck
    let him die a premature death
    so fucking deserved
    he was pathetically disturbed
    no epithet
    he was too ordinary for that

    Losing time in mere seconds
    the second hand is counting down
    another finite moment is upon us
    pulling petals off wilted bouquets
    this is how lasting impressions are made
    the trees resemble gnarled fingers
    scratching at the sky
    trying to grasp at something
    that honestly once seemed to matter

    Mathias - This is such a deeply sad poem. :( The metaphors and flow as usual are remarkable! My favorite part is the ending "the trees resemble gnarled fingers scratching at the sky trying to grasp at something that honestly once seemed to matter" Awesome!!! Ken
