    Kill or Be Kill

How do you separate stars from the planets?
Some are all twinkle and shine,
    And some are all gas.

Well it depends, said my preening ego --
Do you like twinkle or do you like gas?

I think I'll have the moon, I replied quite gravely.

Ah, the moon! cried my ego in surprise.

But would he have you, my dear, with the world at his feet?

With the world at his feet, will he love you at all?

Will he love me -- will he love me???!!  I drawl.

I honestly only care that I can still love at all.

How divine is the pain that brought me the will

To choose whether I can either kill or be kill!
