LIKE THOSE POETS
I wish I could write poems about my life’s storyOr even write something about
The cool winter breeze
& how it feels to be outside when it’s below zero degrees
But nope not me
My poems are always about
Love or falling for someone so hopelessly
I wish I could be like those poets
Who write about the weirdest things
Like some can even interpret
A birds melody when it sings
But nope not I
My poems are always about
How I fell in love with the sparkle in someone’s beautiful eyes
I wish I could be like those poets
Who write about our crazy world
Like those who write about
A tornado’s beautiful yet deadly swirl
But nope not me
My poems are always about
Wanting to hold someone in my arms so badly
I wish I could be like those poets
Who can write about anything
Like those who write about
A shooting star in a darkened sky & how its so amazing
But nope not I
My poems are always about
How I’d give a certain someone the world, if she’d only let me try
I wish I could be like those poets
Who write about life’s twists & turns
& how they compare life to a candle as it’s flame burns
I wish I could write like those poets
Who can write about things
That make you believe they’re completely insane
Because all my poems are of love
& honestly to me, they’re all starting to sound the same
That’s why I wish I could be like them & not be so boring
Because no matter how hard I try, my poems are always about some ol’ person
But maybe...that’s just my life’s story
