    Lives Lost Forever

    Shadows fading before awaiting eyes
Wanting, yearning, to see no lives

Of all that was there, of all that has been
But, now, we cannot see more than our kin

Life all around us seems broken and bare
No promises, no words, no secrets to share

For all of our lives are just dancing mist
They will be forgotten, wiped from the midst

Barely any names will be remembered
Thought of from the past of those who have rendered

    Working, striving towards a goal
Who will remember, in a hundred years, though?

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
