    Missing You

Another day is soon to pass
and I wish that you were here.
Although you are so far away
in my heart I hold you near.
You were just a little boy
when I last saw your face,
but thirteen years has come and gone
    without a single trace.
So much time has passed us by
and so many things have changed,
but through the years of missing you
my love still remains the same.
I love you just as always.
    You're still my little brother.
I hope before this life is done,
we get to see each other.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
