    My Wife

When I got married Jean became my wife,

Together we live for the rest of our life.

For better for worse whomever at fault,

My love for her will never default.

Two sons we have for all our pain,

Grandchildren to have will be our gain.

Cards for birthdays we are to get,

It’s a tradition in which we are set.

Forty long years and still love that is true,

stuck to the waist as if by glue.

Together for ever to be so bold,

my hope she will be for me to hold.

I love you Jean with all my heart,

hope to stay this way and never depart.

But time marches on it is my belief,

Age takes away and causes such grief.

Wow, I was getting ready to enjoy this, then the line "with ALL her fault" popped up like a bird hitting the windshield! Oh well, sometimes one line can cancel out all the others. Might want to fix that or you will have all the ladies up in arms. lol.

Also....(just can't let it alone, sorry) "with all her fault" Is grammatically incorrect...should be faults. *smile* so there! You have to change it so it can become perfect!

my wife thinks whatever the fault is better. she says we all have our faults as no-one is perfect and if anyone thinks they are better is a recipt for divorce as marriage is about sharing

Shouldnt all HER faults be all OUR falts? Otherwise I really loved the passion and the closeness you've had through the years. Beautiful poem!

I looked at it from the sense of taking her for better or worse. Like taking her for what she is reguardless of any faults

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

    Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
