    Sonnet of Winter

As the winter comes nature to sleeps retire,

Leaves fall from the trees to nakedness aspire.

Fallen leaves give the ground a blanket warm,

The frost prevails its white does all adorn.

The days they grow increasingly short,

Snow falls to give man his winter sport.

The rivers freeze and give a hardest set,

Skaters get time to test their skills do get.

Till winter does past and herald the coming spring

That longer days and warmer climes do bring.

This poem contains a pile of perfect rhymes delivered with a 19th century voice as if Verlain is breathing again and dripping ink from his wounded hand. Good write!

I am sorry to say I do not know who Velarian was as I am a ill educated man who left school at 15. I write from my heart and soul, and the only thing I really know about poetry is that it should rhyme.

I see you are a naturalist... we need more planet loving people who can see beauty in the world.

And if only more people would see it that way before it is destroyed

Poetry is what gets lost in translation.
