    Poem Commentary

    I wrote this one about a year ago. It's about nightmares I had when I was younger. I still have these nightmares from time to time, and it really scares me.

    Nightmare

     I close my eyes
    Empty my mind
    Let darkness consume me
    The pain momentarily fades away

    In just minutes
    Fear takes control
    Trees looking ghostly
    I know he's near.

    His eyes pierce through
    The surrounding darkness
    His ice cold breath
    Works its way down my spine

    I hear his lowly shriek
    Deafening
    Sickening
    Paralyzing

    "The time has come
    My little ones
    To prey on the weak
    She is oh, so weak."

    I can hear him chant
    Into the night
    His children howl back
    Answering his command

    He starts toward me
    Bloody eyes glowing
    Icy breath chilling my bones
    The earth around me quakes

    The smell of his blood
    Sickening
    Bone chilling
    Paralyzing

    I, too, have had some bad dreams. Paralyzing? Sounds like you felt powerless over something. I often feel in my dreams there is someone watching me. Eerie? Nice write my friend. :)
