    On Sunset Stump

    Went for a walk,
    ended up in my place.
I layed in the rain crying,
    but no one could tell.
    The rain hid my tears,
    as I knew it would.
    I was surrounded by nature,
a part of the bigger picture.
    With trees for silent guards,
    and birds as companions.
I let my emotions run wild,
    holding nothing back from sight.
    The birds saw it all,
    but they won't tell anyone.
    I'll be there again tomorrow,
doing the same thing over again.
    Just being at one,
    with the storm within.

Poetry brings people together. It is amazaing that I, 57, can relate to you, 16, on sunset stump. Feelings, emotions, humans exposed: we are the same. The storm within is the storm we all know. I lived in Washougal in the eirly 80's. Ain't that a trip.

To have great poets there must be great audiences too.
