For My Baby
Blinding happiness filled me,
then was quickly snuffed out.
My life just changed for the better,
then again for the worse.
Why did it have to be this way?
Every time life intervenes for the worse,
I become more morose.
Moodiness plagues me,
and I cry all the time.
For no reason the blackness descends,
it drowns out all else.
I miss my baby,
more than you'll ever know.
Unless you've gone through,
what I faced a couple months ago.
It hasn't gotten better,
though time has gone by.
I'm not sure it ever will,
not till the day I die.
