Packaging

The packages on my supermarket shelves
Must be visited at night by naughty elves
How else can I explain
The ingredients that they now do not contain
The box of cereal is the same size
But look inside for a big surprise
Lots more nothing
Thats not nice
In addition to a higher price
The bar of candy
Looks so dandy
But Good And Plenty is
One third empty
Babe Ruth, I love to try it
Must have gone on a radical diet
And what about those cans of Jo
Wide on top and
Skinny below
Those chips blown up
With lots of air
To eliminate crushing so say the makers
I say the air is hot and
The makers are fakers
No, it's not the elves who are to blame
But greedy manufacturers
Playing the old shell game

You've got that right. The greed mongers are alive and well and planning their next attack on our pocket books. Good write.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
