Waiting

Waiting

I hate to wait
These days it seems to be
Our fate to wait
We wait for the flight
At the designated gate
So what, we still arrive late
We wait in our car
For the traffic to pass
And for all our trouble
We use up our gas
We wait in line for a popular flick
And find the seat where the floor
Is gooey and slick
Of all the waiting I
Hate the most
It's the doctor who deserves
The special toast
The four o'clock appointment
Is when you arrive
The doctor will see you
At a quarter past five
Perhaps they believe that
You will remain docile and meek
As long as you can read
A month old copy of Business Week
And for all that waiting
What do you get?
Fifteen minutes of his time
And thats a bet
So send the doctor a bill
For all your waiting time
Or better yet
Slip it under his office door
And then I think that he will know
That you are not a patient
Patient any more
