    Somebody's Hero

    Somebody's Hero
    by
    Kelly M. Kirkpatrick

    The modern cavaliers
    Are business-men they say,
No wonder no one ever dances.
They've sold their souls for love
    And watched it slip away.
Have they forgotten what romance is?

    They know no lonely nights
    And live by city lights
    And earn the name
    Of nobody's hero.

I've seen them talk to you
And drive you home by night.
I've seen your eyes, but gave no warning.
I've seen you let them in
    And feed the heartless beast.
I've dried your tears in the morning.

    They know no lonely nights
    And live by city lights
    And earn the name
    Of nobody's hero.

I want to walk with you
    Through summer nights
    And cold December days.
I want to be with you
    When things go wrong
    And others, they turn away.
I want to be the one
    To share your dreams
And wake them to the day.
I want to speak to you
    With all my words
    And every song I play.

So now you turn my way
    To rest you weary eyes.
Now you are looking for the answers.
You've played the games by day
    And known the heartless nights.
You're just a sad and tired dancer.

    You'll know no lonely nights
    And live by heaven's light
    And earn the name
    Of somebody's hero,
    To be somebody's hero,
    To be somebody's hero.

I like it. Are you singing or playing instrument? It sounds like perfect song lirics. I even hear the music

Thank you. I looked at the title and wanted to be blown away by your creation and was. I smiled while being taken on a journey with you. Keep writing because you made a fan of me.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
