Tragic Beauty

Poem Commentary

Beauty in death... one of my favorite themes.

Tragic Beauty

"Beauty's how you see it,"
Or so she said before.
Crimson streaks now stain her cheeks,
Her body broken on the floor.

Whiskey coated carpet,
Compliments the scent she wears.
Black and blue still suit her better,
Thoughts her skin forever bares.

Smoke and sex still linger,
Moist and heavy in the air.
Her limbs lie bent and twisted,
Scarlet streaming through her hair.

Warm blood pools around her,
And her lungs are out of breath.
Yet her beauty's more astounding,
Now that she's wrapped in death.

Thank you. I think your writing is outstanding though, in my opinion it is better than mine. However, I'm flattered by the compliment.

Another one down, you're killn 'em! You're really skilled, your words are inspiration. Thanks!

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
