    Why I Stay

Before I fell in love with you, I became more aware
Of conflicting emotions that raced through my mind
It would have been so easy to become confused
Passionate me wanted to throw caution to the wind
I believed love springs eternal with hope for anyone
Yet for those who would hesitate it waits on no one
While the conciliatory cautioned me to take baby steps
Because with real love, there is never need to rush.
As I've tried love and failed it time after time again
The experience has always left me very disillusioned
For me love is that wonderful secure feeling two share
Which both the giver and receiver have the same euphoria.
Yet, it can also leave them mired in love's disappointment
I believe I love you more than my words will ever say
And it doesn't matter whether it's unrequitted or not
I've come to look forward to our every moment together
But, by the same token I was afraid to fall in love again
Fearing it would only lead to yet another disillusion
Yet, the more I see you, the more I want to be near you
To enjoy the wonderful feeling being in your company
Though the words from my lips have been slow to reveal
That I feel inside, I have kept concealed for too long.
The time has come, that I tell you that which I'm sure of
It was you being who you were that brought me to you,
It’s the love you offer me is the reason why I will stay

True love found, excellent write 10 from me..............................

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
