Why
BLACK MAN
LATINO MAN
WHITE MAN
WHITE MAN
BLACK MAN
LATINO MAN
BLACK WOMAN
LATINA WOMAN
WHITE WOMAN
WHITE WOMAN
BLACK WOMAN
LATINA WOMAN
Why are their colors
That tends to deny
We are all one race…under God
Who’s your God?
What is the question?
What is your ethnicity?
I can’t escape
The suns smile on my face
Can you tell me why?
I can’t hide
I don’t have a choice
Others have a choice
A white man said,
If you want to play the game
You must play the way we say
The black man said,
Something is wrong
The Latino man said
They always do those things
The black man said
But we want to play
“NO, WE MUST PLAY”
For the furtherance of our race
The Latino man said that
They always want their race on
The white man said that we don’t
We are sorry that anything like this goes on
“I asked, why do I have to play”
For the furtherance of my race
“I DON’T WANT TO PLAY”
“IAM AN AMERICAN”
“I CAN SAY NO”
I have the inherent right to say no
They all responded at once saying:
Your race said “YOU MUST PLAY”
I said NO, I am an American
I don’t have to play
The game is immoral
You cheated and lied
You denied my rights
As a citizen I can say NO
The important people said
We run this country
You have no rights
I refuse to acquiesce
To make this scene law
A tradition for my issue
Giving up our inherent rights
When I don’t want to play!!!
