wise Old Owl

Poem Commentary

This is a tribute to my Native American heritage.

wise Old Owl

Wise old’ owl

I majestic flight

Spherical beacons

Blinking beaming orbs

Light my path in

This deep dark forest

Wwho-Wwho-Wwho

Sounding on a distant limb

My eyes lead me to the star

As wind oscillates from

Beyond the great mound

The drumbeat is profound

Echoing in this forest

With air crisp and cold

Wise old’ owl lead me home

Let your bright orbs

Light my path

Wise old’ owl

Bring blessings to me

From the four winds above

North, South, East and West

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.
