    You Were The One

I gave up on love a long time ago.
It hurt so much when it started to grow.
You came along and stole my heart.
You gave my life a whole new start.
Reluctantly I gave my heart to you.
I thought that what you said was true.
When you said we would never part,
I relented and let go of my heart.
You were the one to help me see
that love can be what it's meant to be.
You were the one to pave the way.
You made me realize that love remains.
    You were the one.
    Oh, you were the one.
So why now are you gone?

Staying apart from love one's is very painful,

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
