Bless the Lord, O My Soul

Bless the Lord, O My Soul

Trials on the left, battles on the right,

Some days it seems NOTHING goes right.

A little fear here, a little fear there,

The next thing you know your hearts in despair.

Your mind is bombarded, your faith is NOT

The ways of the Lord are not what you thought.

Now what can you do?  It seems too late.

You cant’ hear His voice; you’ve no patience to wait.

Your fall on your knees, you loudly cry out,

“Bless the Lord oh my soul!” with a victory shout.

You lift up your hands,

You stomp your feet,

Proclaim your Hope, His face you’ll see.

You stir your heart,

His praises sing,

No battle too big for a child of the King

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
