    Dad

    Today is your birthday,
But you are so far away.
    I can’t wish you a happy birthday,
Or even a happy Father’s day.
    I look upon the sky,
Knowing you are watching from the sky.
    I can hardly sleep,
    And can no longer weep.
    Life has ended,
    Since you gave your hand,
To the Creator of all the land.
    God now has you,
    While I lost you.
    You aren’t in the ground,
    But all around.
    I see your smile,
There in the sky miles away
    I love you,
    I adore you,
    I miss you daddy.
    Thank you for protecting me,
    And for watching over me.

What a beautiful tribute to your father. And I am sorry for your loss, nicely portrayed here.

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

    Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
