    A Wind

    As the wind blows,
    A song can be heard.
A song of peace and love,
    Peace in mind and body.
    Love that warms ones heart.
A calm has reached this mind of mine.
    No longer scared or ashamed.
Healing of the heart and mind.
    Ability to live once again.
    Tunnel is no longer dark.
    Light sweeps over me.
And I know now I’m safe.
    Safe to live,
    Safe to love,
    Safe to feel.
    Darkness starts to leave,
    And the coldness is leaving.
Warmth is feeling me with hope.
    Hope of surviving,
Hope of victory over my demons,
    Hope of happiness.
    As the wind blows,
    A song can be heard.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
