    Hope

    Sometimes, though,
there is a burst of happiness
    it is a flame
    that brings warmth and energy
that brings light to a gloomy world.
    but it is a flame
surrounded by the damp and cold
    it struggles to survive
    but is soon put out
there is nothing left except a charred mess.

    until next time

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

    T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
