    Just Hold Me

He whispers softly into her ear
    Calming her
    Soothing her
Allowing her to feel the depth
    Of his love
    Of his warmth
He wraps his arms around her
    Protecting her
    Defending her
    He wipes away her tears
    with care
    with love
He shields her from the pain
    that she's known
    that she's felt
He kisses both of her cheeks
    Softly
    Slowly
He pulls her off the floor
    To her feet
    To his arms
    He promises her the world
    With a ring
    With a word
    He promises to never leave
    In pain
    In anger
He wraps her in the safety
    of his love
    of his strength
    He eases all her fears
    In love
    In life

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
