Poem Commentary

For John...who turned my laments to giggles...tears to smiles!

My Peering Sun

Across the bleak sheen of shadow colored clouds
A peek of the sun’s shimmer catches her sight,
Still shy and cautious not to break the shroud
Careful not to shatter into pieces of shallow delight.

Is she ready to break the silence,
One which keeps her mum from life?
Is she one who takes on the challenge,
Of a new dawn to awaken her stride?

The sun, majestic in its force and flame,
To set her free from the fierce crowd.
Its warmth seem to cast her fear astray
As its flame flickers the darkest cloud.

She knows what she desires
Yet what she desires she couldn’t behold.
Persistent and consistent this sun works with vigor
Showering its steadfast love and shimmer!

A feat so deeply intense no one has ever foretold,
Sun’s striking love & radiance she succumbs with a stranglehold.
She surrenders captivated with the sight of its glory
Shining upon this nymph who will never ever be sorry!

There is a certain majestic mystic feeling about this writing - sensual and serene. I feel the warmth.. Soul

It’s hard to think of anything as viscerally inspiring as a bright and beautiful sunrise. And the concept of taking power from the sun is something everyone can identify with (unless you’re a vampire, I guess ha ha). Really great work!

very nice and whimsical with a lot of colorful imagery. It was emotional but not heavy...it had a certain air of lightheartedness to it. Nice indeed :)

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
