    A NEW DRUM

There is a new drum that we American Christians are marching to now.
The beat is a familiar one, but it has a modern day tempo.
The beat originated from our Lord and Savior, but the
Tempo has been increased to meet the agenda of the misguided brethren.

The beat says that Christianity should be spread through
    Grace, Mercy, and Love.
It allows for the Holy Spirit to flow freely in our Worship Services,
Causing a Worship Experience that usher us into
    The gates of God’s place.
We sit a while, and learn about the Lamb of God,
Who was sacrificed because of mankind’s sin.

The tempo makes us jump up out of our seats at the end of Service,
Head to our cars and back to our Homes, Jobs, and Community
With an unchanged heart, unchanged agenda, unchanged purpose,
    Unchanged life, unchanged spirit man,
    Unchanged beat.

    Unchanged! Unchanged! Unchanged!

Another elegant writing, Mr. Orson. I'll join in the beating of the new drum and even dances to the rhythm just to spread the Word, the Good News all over the world.

Thank you very much for reading this poem. This is one of the earliest poems that I have written. It remains one of my personal favorites. Once again thank you for reading, and may God Bless you.

Great use of repetition. Your poems always have a lesson as well as good poetry. Religion is politics and I intend to do something with this theme. Great job.

Wow! I loved it! "It allows for the Holy Spirit to flow freely in our Worship Services" I hope that the beat of the drums get louder and louder :)) Guidance, it is definitely what we're missing these days. Once again... An amazing content!

I am so thankful for you reading my poems. You feedback is very encouraging. You seem to read for subtext of the poems. That is exactly what I was wanting readers of my works to do. I want my poems to be a ministry and art at the same time.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.
