Being there
Barely any time has passed
since you left
but a void was left
when you went away
you left so suddenly
we saw no signs of you
soon to be leaving
but leave you did
Tho you're not in pain
Tho I hope you're at peace
but now I'm left alone
with only your memory
I didn't say goodbye
nor tell you how much
you've meant to me
why couldn't we have any warning
that you'd be leaving
how many more days without you
will be left before I'll see you again
you stepped up when
you didn't have to
you helped raiseme to be
who I am today
But before I could tell you
what that meant to me
you left in a blink of my eyes
I wanted to thank you
for loving me
for protecting me
for being my father
even though I'm another's
so thank you
for being there
