    Betwixt

A lover’s kiss upon those rosy lips
Her eyes lighten as she smiles with delight
How I wish to touch those beautiful hips
And be blessed by having her in my sight
Forever would I give her all my love
With an eternity to be repaid
My hand would fit over hers like a glove
Even when dead, and eternally laid
The ground would become a bed for us, dear
For her corpse would always stay next to mine
I could stare into those blind eyes, so clear
Our bodies would be meals for worms to dine
Oh how I wish for all of this with her
So she could see my love is always true

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

    T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
