    Twisted Wonderland

    A once joyous place
    Where relaxation could hold me
    Now a place of fear
    My wonderland has been corrupt
    I cannot return
Those horrid things want to take me away

    Don’t be daft, dear
You’ve just had a bad dream
    Now go to bed
    And stop those silly screams

    How can I stop?
    My sanity is gone.
    Will you not help me?
    The demons are strong
    My flesh is torn
    My eyes are gouged
    Help me PLEASE
    What have I done?

    That’s quite enough
    You’ve gone too far
    Must I go
    And fetch an iron bar?

    Oh God, I’m already there
They’ve taken my mother now too
    Is there nowhere to go?
    Nowhere to run?
I can only pray for the sun.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
