Satire of Spring

Satire of Spring

Such a lovely day to be alive
Watching as all beings thrive

Even the ghosts are out today
Escaping their graves just for May

Birds sing so sweet tunes
Calling for all the suns and moons

I sit here and listen, watch, and wait
For a sign that this must be fate

Wings in my heart demand I fly
Wouldn’t today be a good day to die?

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
