    • is unsure if the poetry I've written lately is too angsty/private/poorly written to post or not. Hmmmm.

    Friend

Talking about everything for hours on end
That's how I know that you are my friend.
I know all the details of your past
That's how I know our friendship will last.
You know what I like and what I hate
That's how you know who I would date!
I love to spend time with you, all day
We're just so alike in every way.
You, you are such a great blessing
and you, you make my heart sing.
It's hard to describe how awesome you are
Whether we sit and eat or ride in a car,
Walk in the park or just talk all night
You make me feel like everything is alright
When life is hard and I don't know what to do
I know I can always count on you.
    You're faithful, understanding
    Always kind and undemanding.
You're my friend and I'm yours to
Haha! There's nothing you can do!
You're stuck with me, now and forever
    Always we will be together.

I like it, but the rhyming pattern seems forced. I don't know why or how to fix it, but it seems less mature than some of your other stuff - if you know what I mean.

I do know what you mean - and I don't know how to fix it either. This is not one that I felt happy with when I finished. :/

I like your unrhymed poems better - but I like the thoughts you've captured. The more unstructured poems seem to flow more smoothly.

Thank you. When I write rhymed and structured poems I'm fitting my thoughts into a frame, but a lot of times it's easier and true if the only thing I'm fitting my words into is existence.

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.
