    My Story's Ending

I see my sins now, in the light.
My God sits near and holds me tight,
He supports me as I struggle and fight,
He is my Lord, my Savior, Christ.
Despite my sins, my great misdeeds,
I've decided now to let Him lead.
He takes the reigns of my shining steed,
Pulling me away from my pride and greed.
His love for me goes beyond description,
    His countenance defies all description.
My rescue reads like a work of fiction,
My story heads a fairy tale direction.
"Happy ever after, and all your dreams come true",
That's exactly what He can and will do.
We will see the glory we know to be true,
I'll be in his presence soon - will you?
See, I know the way my story ends.
I live happily forever with my family and friends.
And until that day my faith I'll defend
Through the many evils the devil sends.
I know the way my life will be,
    Forever worshiping the reigning King.
    Eternally filled with joyous glee,
Would you like to share that with me?

He takes the reins (no g in the bridle of a horse) of my shining steed - nice imagery.

oops! I knew that, really. I hate it when I make silly mistakes like that. *sigh* I'll pretend I was following the Indian philosophy - purposefully put in at least one mistake to remind yourself that only God is a perfect creator.

I like this one. It rhymes & I understand it. This is unusual for modern poetry & me.
