    • is unsure if the poetry I've written lately is too angsty/private/poorly written to post or not. Hmmmm.

    Where Do I Turn?

Who do I turn to now that I'm here in this place?
Who do I run towards with tears on my face?
I ask because I need someone to think my thoughts for me,
I need someone to tell me what I should do, who I should be.
Tears and hopes drip onto the table,
I held on as long as I was able.
Now all my anger falls into your lap,
Because I can't stay caught in this trap.
    Falling, falling, I'm falling apart.
Breaking, breaking, you're breaking my heart,
I thought I could depend on you,
And it's not even something you
    Could have done anything about,
Now I need to scream and shout
That all my supports are falling away,
Can I make it through this day?
I just need someone to rely on,
    Someone I can lean on,
But I can't go to you like this, no,
First I have to let the pain go.
Who do I turn to when you're the reason I hurt?
Who do I run towards with tears on my shirt?

Joy is eternal. That is the key to the answer that the poem asks. Maybe you need to write a second stanza? Or an answer poem?

This was one of those times when writing lets me get all my angst out and then I feel better and go do something else. I grasped my faith with both hands when it tried to wriggle away from me, and this was the result. The result of the result was going on to having a better day, and I stopped having the urge to 'rhyme it out'. I might add to it if I try to get it published.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
