    Yesterday

Yesterday I cried for the last time for the first time

I never thought this day would come

When I could write down my thoughts in rhyme

Now I can finally return home

My life is at an end and it more than I can express

I'm ready to go back home

All that's left of me is all yours

I know where the glory goes

All that's left of me is all you need

I gotta show them in word and deed

'You're wonderful' is all I can say

I can do nothing for you but obey

Yesterday I laughed for the first time for the last time

I never thought I'd see the sun

When I finally repented for all my horrid crimes

Took the offering of your son

There's nothing left of me that has worth

Anything good in me is from you

Yesterday I cried (laughed) for the last time for the first time is a great line

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
