Life's Confessions

Six times I done drank
One shot too many
Drove drunk got high
Till little life’s left in me

Mixed weed other thangs
I had no business mixin'
Put up a heavenly front
Doin nothing but sinnin'

Laced other peoples marijuana
With crack cocaine
When they heard that poppin sound
I said it just seeds man

Lied to my mom and pops
About the thangs I was doin
Steered my cousin toward them feloines
Now his life is in ruins

Turned my back on my brother
Cant look in his eyes
I think I feel a little guilty
Cause i'm up on the rise

My moms is callin me
Sayin will I go visit a nigga
I try to make up excuses
But the lies getting thinner

Try and think about my paper
Till the state try and stop me
If I fail Im up to Vegas
I know the gods has got me

Once or twice up in this life
I learned some tough ass lessons
Dear Father please forgive me
These are my life’s confessions

All I can say is, damn son. It's so honestly spoken and flows so well. Amazing job.

its a hard thing to hear the truth from someone that cares about you and even more difficult to be the one spouting that truth to the face staring back at you in the mirror. Excellent work

Very subtle treatment of a very emotional subject. Very honest treatment of the subject matter, The constant struggle between good and evil or just plain old existing and living seems to come forth as one of your themes. There is no easy answer my friend. We all know the right path, it's making ourselves stay on it that becomes the day to day struggle

this is a good poem you put so much truth and honest in one poem and it runs together smoothly !

Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
