Still

Still

I still miss you

Sometimes it’s hard to breath

I think about you all the time

And I wonder why

I still feel you

Sometimes it hurts me

I think about our memories

And I wonder what we could be

If the world wasn’t cruel

Then you wouldn’t have had to leave

More times shared

Life isn’t fair

The world lost a hopeful light

Now I guess one star in the sky

Will shine extra bright

I won’t forget you

Your influence was great

You are part of me now

You touched so many

I miss sharing my life with you

Hearing your excitement

cheering me on as I do what I do

I talk about you all the time

It’s hard to get you off my mind

No one else can really understand what we were

Because we didn’t even know for sure

 We were pure and good

This didn’t happen like it should

A sad but endearing look at loss whether it be from death or seperation you do not clearly state which leaves the reader to draw their own conclusion. You can never go wrong with that approach. well done and deep. -Tonya

Thanks! Yeah, this is sad. It's about a good friend of mine that I lost a few months ago to cancer. I miss her so much and think of her often. It's an ugly disease that hits close to home for so many.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
