    Today, I Feel Strong

    Today, I feel heartbroken
    Because my forever love didn't last.
    What was suppose to be future
    Has just become my past.

    Today, I feel lonely
    Because I left my companion,
    The one for whom my love
    Was deeper than the grand canyon.

    Today, I feel depression
    Because no one can relate.
    I'm all alone in this world.
    It's just me...give or take.

    Today, I feel self-concious
    Because I don't know what I did wrong.
    I can't understand why our melodies
    Were those of different songs.

    Today, I feel ignorant
    Because of my stupid choice.
    Because I knew his lies.
    I could hear them in his voice.

    Today, I feel inadequate
    Because I chose to stay.
    Because I wasn't enough for myself.
    Because I wasted my days.

    Today, I feel dumb.
    Because the truth was in my face.
    Because I gave him everything.
    Because I let him lie dead in my face.

    But, the negative emotions
    Are somehow overcome.
    Because even though I feel bad,
    Today, I feel strong.

    Today, I feel strong.
    Because I had the guts to leave.
    I knew when enough was enough
    And I became enough for me.

    Today, I feel strong
    Because I uncovered the truth
    Because I gave him up
    Because he is no longer under my roof.

    Today, I feel strong
    Because he will forever respect me
    Because I stopped taking his crap
    Because I made it how it has to be

    Today, I feel strong
    Because I have enough love for myself
    Because I am my own truth
    Because I know my own worth

    Today, I feel strong
    Because he can hurt me no longer
    I had the strength to leave
    And now that I'm gone
    I'll become stronger.

    I think this is a powerful poem and it show how a women can get into a relationship and find out that it not for her and has the strength to get out. I love it. It empowers other women and shows them they don't have to take it either. Read some of my poems I write to empower women as well. Keep up the good work mommy. YOur only 17 I can only imagine what your going to be like at 25 world watch out.
