    Poem Commentary

I wrote this for my youth group counselor.

    Adam and Eve

    Women are made of rib,
and men are made of dust.
He's got a special place in the sky
    for every one of us.

A tree and a serpent so tempting
A shrub of love and hate
    Something red and shiny
    their taste buds did dilate.

    They didn't know of bad,
until the serpent slithered their way.
    Teeth met succulent apple flesh.
    and he, they did betray.

So now you know the story
and why we're born of sin
Makes me wonder what it would be like
    if Adam and Eve listened.

It's good he has arms that are open
and a heart that's willing to forgive
the man that was made from dust
and the woman made of rib.

Another great one! Thank you for reminding everyone of how it all came about. We sometimes wonder what would have happened if it all turned out differently...but we just know God is the Author, and He knows. God Bless-

Excellent flow and word pictures. The funny thing about this story if Adam had not eaten the fruit we would not be born of sin but because he was so enamored of Eve he took the fruit and ate. Thereby they did not produce any children while perfect and had brought the consequence of disobedience on their heads and ours. Great write. It definitely get the juices flowing.........E

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.
