Blue Are The Lips You Kissed

Flowers wilt as you say goodbye,
Leaving me in these grey lands.
I'm laying in the cold snow,
Ice gripping at me like dead hands.

Leaves fall as you walk away,
Leaving a ghost in your midst.
You're gone, sucking out all hope,
Blue are the lips you kissed.

Bare trees shake as your footsteps echo
Forever to be engraved in my mind.
Debris breaks and flies in the air,
Hits me as you've left me behind.

The lake freezes over since you're not coming back,
    Mirrors my dying heart.
The way you can break people down,
Well, it's a work of art.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
