    Dumbstruck, Tried and Terrified

When You’re not right here by my side,
I’m so dumbstruck, tried and terrified.
When I’m feeling in this world all alone,
I’m certainly dying, pain deep in my bones.

I won’t stand it. I need You here.
In the worst times, it’s the world I fear.
So, I’m going to find you now, seek you out,
    I will find Your whereabouts.

Lord, I’m now praying to You.
Please, won’t You see me through?
Lord, I’m running now to You,
Catch me, as I’ll be there soon.

    I’m falling across fields,
I refuse to stop and yield.
To the evils of this one world,
    When You always go unheard.

Lord, they’re trying to trip me,
trying to make me fall down, see,
But I said no, I’m coming to You,
Nothing can stop my passage through.

This world will one day end,
I wonder if they realize when
So soon it could all be over,
When will they shed their evil cover?

Lord, the world needs You now,
And, better than anyone, You know how
Exactly to fix us, bring us back home,
Lord, when is the day You will come?

I will run to You in darkness.
I will come to You in silence.
I will follow You in evil days.
I will walk with You in this haze.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
