    Staying Alive Tonight

One day we all will die
But it is not yet time
    Help make the world alive
    With me you please strive

    Today is not the day
It is not yet time to pass away
    Stop pretending you will
Live it up, don’t yourself kill

It’s time now to stay awake
Healthy, eyes clear like the lake
    We’re staying alive tonight
    Tomorrow you’ll know I’m right

Stay with me now, you can’t leave
You must hang on, you must believe
You must live for me now
I lived for you, remember how?

I stayed alive through hard times
I toughed it out through their crimes
Crimes of the heart, killed it they did
Left me without another word said

It’s your turn to return the favor
For you I now say a prayer
    “Lord, help us live tonight,
Help them know that now I’m right.”

I know you want to remain living
You don’t want to go about killing
Yourself and also us who care
Hurt us that badly, you shouldn’t dare

    You will remain living tonight
I’ll stay with you through your fright
We won’t leave, God and I,
We love you both too much to die

So promise me you’ll live now
If you died I can’t imagine how
I’d live my life until I die
Every day I’d spend, I’d cry

I’d cry for you, that you wouldn’t hang on
I’d cry for us, that now you’re gone
I’d cry for God, that you killed his creation
I’d cry for you, your dead smile of animation

    Don’t go killing yourself now
We’d die inside were you not around
Need you to save us as someday well
As we do for you, I’d take your spot in hell

This is a sad poem very personal poetry great flow thru the piece I did not understand the end thou As we do for you, I'd take your spot in hell.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
