Cactus Trees

Poem Commentary

I find something in nature, or an experience I have had, and then ponder it. Poetry comes naturally from my heart to the paper (computer) as an inspiration, freshly hewn pottery just out of the oven. Each piece is a masterpiece.

Cactus Trees

Cactus trees grow tall and round with sunshine yellow flowers,

Needles stick through hides of green and leathered spiral towers.

Midday sun may wilt the flowers that fall upon the sand,

But cactus trees are tough and lean and will survive past man.

All kind of creatures come to drink the thorny cactus matter,

Vermin snuggle in between its colored art that splatters,

My thoughts are drawn close to your side,

I wonder just how you’ve survived,

Then in my thoughts the cactus tree,

Leaned down close and spoke to me,

“The apple falls not far from the tree,

  I live by my frugality.”

IT'S A GOOD THING TO LIKE WHEREVER WE'RE FOUND, NO MATTER WHAT THE CIRCUMSTANCE. GREAT WORK!!!

Poetry is what is lost in translation.
