A Hoppy Little Froggie

Poem Commentary

These are the things I come up with when I stay up all night and clean house. Enjoy!

A Hoppy Little Froggie

A hoppy little froggie is as happy as can be,

Jumping on his lily pad and smiling back at me,

Catching flys and insects with his tongue so very long,

He’s quite a rare Olympian as he flys across the pond.

His legs, they were commended, when he jumped across the street,

I spied a Russian lifeguard when he needs something to eat.

"Pray tell the green amphibian?"  Said the tall Slavokian man.

"He's fast asleep your highness, we'll stick him in the pan!"

I must have been in one of those quasi-sadistic towards froggies that night. I personally, don't eat frog's legs, or anything else that is green meat, so I just don't know what came over me!!! ;-)

LOL! I just felt a little bit naughty that night!

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
